Shark tops in the US in vacuum cleaners, robot vacuum cleaners, steam mops and multi-function cooking pots. What is more, its robot vacuum cleaners have been rated No.2 in the US. No wonder iRobot stocks tumbled 15% on the very day when Shark robot vacuum cleaners went marketed.
The following table shows Shark sales of $476.6 million in 2017 and $1,077 million in 2018, which does not make sense as an increase of $10 billion in sales in one year is impossible. It turns out that $476.6 million is added after the acquisition made by Joyoung. As a whole, Shark enjoyed sales of $1.438 billion in 2016, $1.354 billion in 2017 and $1.477 billion in 2018.
