Today the new Dyson V11 model was launched. As advertised on Dyson’s official website, it is “twice the suction of any cord-free vacuum at the cleaner head.” I wonder if Shark will stand up and challenge it.
What is the difference between V11 and V10?
1. First, the motor speed rises 100,000 rpm to 125,000 rpm. In contrast, producers in China just make it close to 100,000 rpm, and now they have to chase for 125,000 rpm. Higher speeds mean both improved performance and shorter battery life, how will they deal with this?
The V11 digital motor was developed on the V10 platform. For better performance, the impeller and bearing are larger than V10.
2. In order to fit a stronger motor, Dyson applies seven 21700 batteries this time, prolonging the life time, increasing the weight from 2.8KG to 3KG and extending the charging time from 3.5 hours to 4.5 hours. It can work for 60 minutes on the lowest setting.
3. The new accessory is the High Torque cleaner head. It highlights a sensor inside, which can automatically switch the suction based on the wooden floor and the carpet. As the video shows, the High Torque brush features a brushless motor inside that can transmit information at a speed of 360 times per second and automatically switch according to different thrusts on the floor and carpet. Lately Tineco of Ecovacs applied a dust sensor to automatic switching. It seems that the automatic switching mode will be intensely focused on next.
4. Add LCD screen. This screen shows current performance, including selected power mode, remaining run time, filter maintenance reminders and blockage reports.
5. The bin is up to 40% bigger.
A golden version was marketed in the UK.
A charging stand was rolled out in Japan, making it unnecessary to drill holes in the wall. It seems that even Dyson has to pay attention to the fact in the Asian market that consumers dislike making holes in the wall.
