Leading vacuum makers Shark, Electrolux, TTI, Philips and SEB have their vacuum cleaner factories set in Ningbo, Suzhou and Guangdong regions. Dyson, other than them, chose Malaysia over China, which aroused insiders’ curiosity.
It was rumored Dyson once attempted to work with Chinese factories but at last turned to Malaysia out of technology and patent reasons.
Who produce vacuum cleaner ,hair drier and air purifier for Dyson??
As I learned, Dyson mainly works with following factories:
1.ATA INDUSTRIAL (M) SDN. BHD.
A company based in Singapore. Its turned over around RMB 2.7 billion in 2017.
It primarily offers Dyson cordless hand-held vacuums and bladeless fans.
2.Meiban Group Pte Ltd
A Singapore factory that makes washing machines for Dyson as of 2004, and now also its digital motor provider.
It mainly offers Dyson cordless hand-held vacuums, bladeless fans and digital motors.
3.VS Industry BHD, Senai, Malaysia
A Malaysian EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) factory, ranked 27th among EMS providers in 2017. It enjoyed 2017 turnover of MYR 3.281 billion, or around RMB 5.14 billion.
4.SKP Resources BHD
A Malaysian EMS. It worked with Dyson as of 2002 and saw its annual turnover in 2017 stay around RMB 3 billion, half of which owing to Dyson.
It mainly offers Dyson cordless hand-held vacuums and blowers.
5. Flextronics — Singapore
Flex Ltd., previously named Flextronics International Ltd. with NASDAQ of FLEX, is a world-known electronics product and service provider. Founded in US Silicon Valley in 1969, it set a factory in Singapore in 1981, proving the first U.S. manufacturer setting up a factory overseas.
In 2016, Flex turned over USD 24.418 billion, ranked third among EMS suppliers, next only to Foxconn and Pegatron Corporation.
It mainly offers Dyson wired vacuums and Dyson 360 eyes robots and now also a Bissell vacuum supplier.
6.New Kinpo Group
New Kinpo Group based in Taiwan, ranked eighth among EMS suppliers on a global scale. It set up a few vacuum factories for Dyson in the Philippines.
It mainly offers Dyson cordless hand-held vacuums, blowers and digital motors.
These factories reflect that quite a lot of EMS leaders are marching into vacuum making segment, other than traditional OEM/ODM makers. With cordless vacuums being the coming tendency, it remains to be seen whether other EMS magnates will go into this business.
